Ficlet: Sensitive.
Title:  Sensitive
Author: HeroHunter
Pairing: Lex/Adina
Rating: Hardly any at all.
Spoilers: Nah.
Word Count: 982 words.
Summary: AU, Crossover, somewhere in the near future.  Don't think too much.
Notes: This is for my darling
vagablonde, who requested sassy!Adina and broken-hearted!Lex.  I tried to make her happy, let's see if it worked.
Warnings:  NOT betaed (*hides*) because I knew my beta would be busy tonight and I wanted to get this out to
vagablonde right away!  Feel free to point out my errors; they're there, haha!!  If you're looking for plot, try just about anyone else on my f-list, lol!  This is not to say this will never have a plot (if it goes anywhere from here) but right now, it's just a few scenes put together.  But I ramble.  Shall we?

Sensitive

Alexander

He filled his glass again, the amber liquid mesmerizing and soothing him even before his hand moved in the arch that would lead the scotch to his lips.  He sipped, closing his eyes at the burn and the old, wooden taste.  He gulped a moment later, emptying the crystal glass once more.  Minutes later, it seemed, he frowned as he poured the last of the scotch.  His left arm swung.  The bottle traveled in the air and hit the wall with a loud crash.  The movement caused him to lose his balance and he fell to the hardwood floor on his right shoulder, his grunt delayed because of his inebriated state.  Nobody came to find out what the noise had been about, nobody came to see how he was doing.  Nobody came...

...

Adam

He studied the blue eyes looking back at him.  Curly black hair, a plain face of any Joe Shmoe, nothing extraordinary when he was like this, naked and still.  He leaned forward and dipped two fingers in the thick beige cream.  His fingertips ran over his skin in sure motions, circles, spreading, smoothing, and covering every imperfection.  With every stroke he lost a little bit more of himself, he became another.  His back straightened, his chest stuck out and his head tilted back, until he no longer recognized his own mannerisms because he was no longer there.  He was gone...

...

Adina

She swayed her hips and shoulders, perfectly balanced on high-heeled sandals.  Her outfit was colorful, her smile was wide; she loved being there, being alive.  The loud music pumped inside her chest, made her lips pucker and her eyes sparkle like the glitter on her hair.  She felt like a force of nature, inevitable, overpowering, magnificent.  She smiled as she was invited to dance, and she went.  Hands grabbed her hips, ran up to touch her exposed sides, but when they tried to explore under her top, she shook her head and brought them back down to her waist.  The man pouted and she laughed, head thrown back and the rush of happiness filling her like no drug ever could.  She would change dancing partners soon and would eventually go home alone, but that did not matter now; she had all night.  She had just arrived...

...

Atlantis

The crowds did not part as he entered the club, like they used to.  Not that he could blame them; he had no posse with him, no illicit drugs rolling out of his pocket, no paparazzi following his every move.  To this new generation he was just another man, a face that their fuzzy minds did not recognize... yet.  Hands in his pockets, he made his way to the bar and ordered an apple martini.  He had to smile at his own sentimentality, and he was still grinning at his drink when another body crashed onto his right side, almost causing him to spill the martini.  He turned to scowl at the rude youth but was met with a bright smile and a hand snaking around his arm.

"If you're done flirting with your drink," she said, her voice raspy and half-whispered as she leaned on him.  "Maybe you'd like to buy me one."

He had to admire her guts.  She was not as young as the teenagers bouncing on the dance floor and her frame was not exactly petite; hell, she was not even female.  He found himself smirking and dipping his head to whisper in her ear.

"Or maybe you'd like to leave with me.  I have a full bar at my place."

She leaned back and watched him, surprise obvious on her face.  He blinked a couple of times, shocked himself, but recovered almost instantly.  He had not had anyone in his bed who did not require payment in years, but he did not back out of the invitation oncehe had made it.

"I... well, you..."  She shook her head as if to organize her thoughts.  The fake glued-on plastic nails on her right hand tapped onto the counter and she bit her lower lip.

"I know," he assured her, making sure he enunciated the words slowly and that his expression carried the meaning he was trying to convey.  "I mean you no harm."

Well, hardly any harm anyway.

Her eyes widened and she eyed the club as if looking for the nearest exit, and so he took her chin and gently made her face him again.  Were he a betting man, he would wager a million dollars that she was a tease; always tempting and never going all the way.

That was about to change.

...

Her eyes fluttered closed and she parted her painted lips when his tongue licked between them.  She let him in with her heart thundering inside her chest and soon she was kissing back, bringing her hands to his shoulders while he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.  Deep, slow kiss, she opened her eyes to look at him, letting them fall closed again because his own eyes were closed; he was really into it.  His tongue stroked hers thoroughly, sensually.  He was not sloppy or clumsy like most men she had let kiss her, he was gentle, firm and he definitely knew what he was doing.  She stopped hearing the music around them and stopped feeling the rhythmic beating inside her chest; she became completely focused on him and this kiss.

"Say yes," he whispered a lifetime later, his light eyes promising her the fulfillment of her wildest dreams, his hands holding her close and making her feel safe.  Like a moth to a flame, her mind whispered, but she waved the though away because she was tired of being so fucking safe and so fucking chaste all the time.

"Yes," she muttered in return, sighing when he kissed her again.
